Mexican media say at least 25 people were killed when a truck carrying
explosives crashed into another vehicle and then exploded in northern
Mexico.
Some reports put the death toll from the explosion overnight Sunday as
high as 37. The reports say the dead include three journalists who
went to cover the crash in the mining state of Coahuila.
About 150 other people were injured by the blast, which left a large
crater in the road. Explosives are used in the mining industry in
Coahuila.
In other news from Mexico, the state-run Pemex oil monopoly says six
explosions believed to be sabotage have damaged its pipelines in
Veracruz state.
Pemex says the blasts forced the evacuation of some people near the
pipelines.
